I'll be here in Marathon if ya need me

Karma and I took our time we had last night and went to the Famous Burro to watch my hostel-mate, Philip Gibbs play folk music. In addition to being a really cool guy, he's a great musician playing guitar and harmonica accompanying his really nice voice.

I met some local folks and Marathon passers-through and really enjoyed the amazing beer battered mushrooms! Amazing!!! If you make it to the Famous Burro, you need to go there for the atmosphere and entertainment.

My bald yarmulke well displayed as my photo was taken

Taken Monday morning, Phil, Karma and I were outside the hostel by the chiminea, warming our backs before Phil took off to New Mexico to seek his next performance .

It was a slow day, relaxing, doing some chores around the "village" to compensate for my stay. Looking forward to getting back on the road with a double-wide sleeping bag for Karma and me and some backup pairs of shoes for Karma.

I have one more thing I need to do before I get out of town. I need to get a "team photo" with Chloe "The Renaissance Woman" and her dogs with which we had a doggie play date. We said were were going to do that yesterday, but forgot.

A couple of things I forgot to post along the way (I think). Somewhere about 25 miles east of El Paso, I witness a mini-tornado. Nothing to write home about, but still kind of cool. Check out the brief video as the mini-twister dissipates -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNMqXp9yauY

Also, when I was in Ft. Davis, I met a gentleman who canoed and/or bicycled with a friend for 8,000 miles around the central and western US. They had a trailer for their canoe so when they needed to portage, they could use the bicycles that they had in their canoes to tow them around. I saw the book of their journey, but cannot for all of Karma's energy (on a good running day) remember the guys name or the name of his book. I googled the story, some of the information he told me and still came up with nothing. C'est la vie.

Slow blog day! More will certainly happen in the future about which I can blog.

Wish you all well. To my children, I miss you, love you and forever will.
