An early morning breakfast with ol' sleepy head Karma at Angie's Restaurant was very uneventful. Eggs, pancakes toast, coffee, big water. Ugh. Loaded like a stuffed pig. We headed out of town Ft. Hancock, but first stopped at a small grocery store and picked out a banana, and some clementine oranges. $0.92. I told the guy he was crazy for only charging me that amount. I gave him a dollar and left. Awesome oranges by the way.
Karma and I started out on the road with her initially in the trailer. After a bit of whining (she was letting me know she wanted to run), I undid the two leashes that restrain her from exiting the trailer. She gleefully hopped out of the trailer. Within 100 yards I heard a hissssssssss. Flat. I was warned about the thorny things nicknamed goat heads and there was one sticking out of my tire (the puncture resistant one, I might add - but I was told NO TIRE is goat head resistant). Karma took a nap while I changed the flat, made a permanent fix to my odometer and tightened my brakes.

Not a whole lot to see along the way. Some very boring geology and vistas. But along the way, we stopped and took some photos anyway.

We proceeded up the long climb and determined it was in our best interest to stop for the night. We hopped behind a guardrail and headed down a hill. As we made a required small leap to the ground below I nearly jumped out of my skin. I thought I was about to land on a snake...it was merely a snake skin - a very long one. In the AM, I'll take a photo of the skin when there is better light!
Karma is sound asleep after our day. She is a trooper and a great companion for this trip. I can't thank my friend Sally enough for providing me with this amazing opportunity to tour with Karma. I'm kind of now a Karma groupie. More people like her than me on the blog! :)
Peace.
Hey Tim following Kharma and you on here, stay safe and wish you the best on your journey.
